Theories and aspects of social structure and personality from a sociological approach. I'm a sociology major, and I find that most of the stuff we are covering in class completely interesting. And it also helps in my area of specialization/study in sociology too which is Underdevelopment and Globalization.

There is a girl in my Qualitative research methods class (gagx10) is applying for the School of Public Policy for her masters. Small world. Globalization and underdevelopment is really interesting to me. I think we should simply adopt on a global scale micro credit lending along with adopting a global free market economy. And fair trade.
Guess who became the left wing socialist hippie in my immediate family?

haha guess who is the ultra conservative in their family =D I have always found globalization very interesting. I think that you can't talk about globalization without first discussing the effects of de-colonization, lets face it no matter what theory you argue for there was some kind of backlash. I am all about free markets, low or no tariffs. The term fair trade bothers me because it seems like its too idealistic.

My mom says that I don't play well with conservatives.
Read the book King Leopold's Ghost. I had to read it for my 300 level underdevelopment class. Its about the de-colonization of the Congo back in the 1800's. Free market economies are idealistic along with having the opportunity of actually succeeding, well at least the way I see it. But for it to work the world needs to learn how to play fairly all the time. Fair trade is not idealistic since it is being widely used, and becoming more popular. I buy fair trade products as often as I can. The utilization of fair trade needs to be more wide spread for it to have a bigger and larger impact than it already has.

What kind of stuff do you cover in class thats so interesting? I have always been into this sort of stuff. I am sure you have seen Zeitgeist? + Eating food! + Listening to music + Tomorrows Thursday - Physics is the hardest class in the world. - Homework for physics is a drag.

So far we've learned about the Self, and covered the basic's on Mead's theory, Goffman's theories, and Cooleys 'The Looking Glass Self'. I find this stuff really interesting from a sociological approach. Annnnddddddddddddd there is a reason why I tool Bio 140 (Humam Biology) instead of Physics 109. + 4 hour nap - 4 hour nap that left me slightly disoriented when I work up 15 minutes ago
