I saw them last night & the coolest thing happened. My friend had a meet and greet pass and an extra ticket so he called me and asked me if i wanted to go at like 3:30. He told me he had to be there by 4:45 for the meet and greet and we got there at like 5. So we missed it. They put on amazing show. Actually, everyone did. Even the horrible local bands before the real show weren't all that horrible. After the show they had a second meet and greet but you had to buy a cd for it. Neither of us wanted to spend 20 dollars on another devildriver CD just to get it signed and a hand shake. So we left, and then afterwards, I was sitting on my friends car in the parking lot smoking a cigarette when "the wretched" organizer stopped my friend and asked him what he thought of the meet and greet. My friend had on one of those t-shirts they send you when you join "the wretched" [devildriver fanclub] but we got there late and missed it. So the coordinator pulled out his walkie talkie and was like "hey, i got some kids out here who missed the meet and greet but are in 'the wretched,' make sure they meet the band." and then he told us to go to the tour bus. Dez came right out first and we saw that the rest of the band was sitting down eating. They all came out after him and immediately hugged us and thanked us for coming and apologized to us for being late. It was the most bizarre thing ever. They were extremely sincere and hospitable. It really surprised me because i always heard Dez was an asshole but he was the kindest of them all. They talked to us for about fifteen minutes before Dez was like "Hey! You want us to sign anything?" which we had totally forgotten about because we left everything in the car but i just happened to still have my ticket stub on me. Jon gave us both guitar picks, too. He was like "Hey! You want a souvenir?" It was really sweet. It was one of the best experiences meeting a band. They were genuinely nice and happy to see us and talk to us and kept apologizing to us that the first meet and greet was so early in th day. As if it was their fault we were 15 minutes late. I don't know, it was just good vibes all around and really made my night.
Oh, and i'm convinced that the lead singer of Napalm Death is Christopher Knight's evil twin.

very cool Ger. Dez seems to have really turned around his attitude the past few years from what I have read.
